Samovar Russian Blend. Today tea is the most popular non-alcoholic drink in Russia.
Our black tea blend, not to be confused with the Georgia tea of former times, is based on an old Russian recipe and is perfectly suitable for being served from a samovar.
A Samovar is a heated metal container traditionally used to heat and boil water in Russia. Samovar means ‘self brewer’. Some samovars are simple in styling but some are made very elaborately and are real pieces of art.
Black tea was imported from China. Until the end of the 17th century, people in the time of the Czars had been drinking “Sbiten”, a brewed mixture of hot water, honey, & herbs.
A highly aromatic and at the same time soft tea with a very slight smoky note.
