Assam Hunwal - It's Tea

Shop

The Hunwal Garden lies in the heart of Jorhat, in the Indian state of Assam, just south of the mighty Brahmaputra River. Uniquely positioned at an elevation of approximately 1,000 metres above sea level—a rarity for the Assam region—the garden benefits from cooler daytime and nighttime temperatures. This slightly higher altitude slows the growth of the tea plants, allowing them to develop a depth and complexity of flavour that is particularly prized.

This particular tea is harvested during the second flush, a period renowned for producing some of the finest Assam teas. Expertly processed, it yields a robust and full-bodied cup. Expect bold, spicy notes balanced by a smooth, malty character, and a distinctive lingering aftertaste that speaks to the garden’s exceptional terroir. A harmonious and satisfying brew for those who appreciate strong, flavourful teas with rich complexity.
