Now more than ever we are all conscious of our wellbeing and how important looking after our health and immune system really is. The last couple of years have really shown us that! The great news is you can look after yourself in enjoyable ways, such as drinking a cup of tea (or a pot if you’re a tea lover like us).
Herbal Tea and Medicine
Dating back thousands of years herbs and plants have been involved in different medicine systems. In fact some modern medicines are derived from synthesised versions of plant compounds. Isn’t nature amazing?
Recently some new blends arrived in our herbal tea selection. We know that it can be overwhelming with so many to choose from, please don’t hesitate to ask us for more advice, that is what we are here for. We will introduce our newest blends in this blog, and a few others which are already a favourite amongst herbal tea lovers.
Defence Blend
Defence Blend is a mix of organic herbs and each one has its purpose in there. It it is blend to help enhance immunity, provide relief from symptoms of illness such as colds and enhance the body’s ability to resist them in the first place.
Defence contains a hint of cooling peppermint and eucalyptus leaves with warming ginger. Herby aromatic and clarifying sage leaves, elderberry flowers and a dash of apple pieces and orange peel complete the composition. A herbal tea to do good which also tastes great!
Gingko Biloba
Native to China the Ginkgo Biloba tree has been cultivated since early on in human history. Extracts from the Ginkgo tree are commonly used in a variety of health supplements, but you can make tea directly from the leaves too.
Gingko Biloba is naturally rich in antioxidants, which combat oxidative stress in the body which can damage cells. This natural wonder is also used to improve cognitive abilities, aid circulation and boost memory.
Simply add a tea spoon of Gingko Biloba leaves to hot water and steep for 5 mins. The flavour on it’s own is a mild leafy flavour, you can always mix it with other herbs for flavour, like lemon balm or mint, or even add a slice of lemon.
Wellbeing Blend
Wellbeing Blend herbal tea is a powerhouse of great organic herbs. Mint, fennel and aniseed not only provide a cooling taste experience but are also fantastic aids for digestion. Camomile and Lemon Verbena leaves add a gentle lemony taste, being known for their relaxing and also anti-inflammatory properties. We recommend this blend if you are feeling sluggish or wish to ease indigestion.
Turmeric
Turmeric, also known as “aztec gold”, is a root belonging to the ginger family and has been used for as far back as 4000 years for both its medicinal and culinary qualities. It contains curcumin a compound that makes it naturally potent as an anti-inflammatory and helps to boost liver function. Turmeric is also thought to be good for arteries, joint health and regulating blood sugar levels.

- Turmeric Gold – chunky turmeric slices meet with ginger, cocoa peel, vanilla, fennel, aniseed and make for a sweet warming healthful beverage.
- Ayurvedic Mace and Turmeric – a spicy and refreshing blend combining turmeric and mace. Mace is a spice made from the dried shell of the nutmeg tree flower.
- Seaside Feeling – a blend with turmeric created to help the mind switch off and refresh the soul. A treat for all the senses.
Purify Blend
Purify Blend is packed full of flavour and healthful ingredients. Each ingredient has been chosen for it’s ability to help the body detoxify and to support your liver in cleansing your body and flushing out toxins. Nettle and dandelion leave shave long been used for their cleansing properties, you will find them in several of our health teas, and particularly this one. Not only a great tea for fitness and constitution but yummy too. What more could you want?
